NEED COOL FEATURE TO STOP REPOSTS

I have some ideas to stop reposts - and to stop people saying REPOST all the time which I find annoying:
1. Automatically do a search on the title of a new thread after submission. User would then be presented with a list of similar thread titles, and an ARE YOU SURE? message. They could then be allowed to create the thread or add the message as a new post on one of the other threads.
2. Simpler option - a little "Search for similar posts" button next to the TITLE box which you can click and basically does a search and gives you the results as above.
What do you think?

You're also assuming people use thread titles that have some relevance to the subject they are posting. Far too many people post garbage like "OMG WTF !!!!" which is no use in describing what the thread is about. Which is one of the reasons we get reposts.
If titles were short descriptions of what the thread is about and if people click on the "next page" hyperlink to check a couple of pages back there would be far less reposts, that's without even running a quick 30 day search.
