Is it just me, or is it sometimes taking ages to post, or access a thread? I have a 20meg link, so it isn't me...

You would think this old gremlin could be sorted once and for all! hehe

It's been poor all year, there are a few threads over in website feedback about it. Doesn't look like they're any closer to fixing it though.

This is easily the slowest most unresponsive site I visit, which is a real bummer because it's my favourite place.

There was me about to needlessly join a rant about how boring the threads are lately....

Snotrag's was a goody though.

Nope, still get regular timeouts, and it is characterised by *all* forums I'm trying to refresh waiting for connection. Leave it a few seconds, after 10 or so they either all refresh at the same time, or all time out.

Most usually there's no error page returned, so my initial hunch of dodgy database handling code probably isn't right, because the webserver component should return an error page if a query times out due to lock contention.

Unless Ted's rolled his own web server code, his own database *and* his own forum code, in which case I'd say it's probably his code. smile

Chriiiiisrt! It's bloody painful this evening. I click..nothing happens...I click again...and wait....and wait....and wait.

I refresh. Nothing happens. I refresh again.....slow....slow....refresh! Now I can't see my thread.

I refesh again. I click. I wait. I click "back" and try again.

Finally the thread comes up... now I'll have a go at posting....

Jeez. Sort it out Haymarket!

That sounds interesting. A mate of mine has a new 535 Diesel, and it is pretty awesome.

Is your the last of the previous model or the first of the new?

Well what do you all expect? This place started out talking about TVRs - hardly a reliable starting point! wink

That is a nice car - I'm not a big beemer fan by nature, but seeing as how you need to do some serious mileage these days that sounds like a stylish and relatively frugal way to do it.

Make sure you let us know what you think of it.

I've never really been a BMW fan either, but it is a lovely, well put together car that I'm sure will be fun to drive up and down the M6......

I did look at S types, but there were none for the price range!
