Hi All,

Is anyone having problems connecting to the PH URL - mine is fine but charlie is having a problem connecting through Vigin Media in the woking area?

He gets a DNS error (which makes me think it's Virgin Media) but the problem is, Virgin Media's call centre in India don't know what a DNS error is rofl

Cheers,

Ben.

I'm back, unplugged my router and gone straight from modem to pc and it works, how strange...

Have the PH team changed anything that would cause the router to have a spazz about PH?

I too am having problems from virgin media.

I am having to use a proxy to access the site but it works fine from my freedom2surf connection at my other house.

Has someone done something or played silly buggers with my IP wink Can you check 82.5.238.177
is not blocked, or if I am blocked why?

Cheers

Do you have a router?

Fubar is saying that it is timing out for him as well, and he has a router. He is on BT

My machine at home wouldn't connect this morning... Peculiar, maybe there's been a change of DNS for PH??

possibly, if you have it working at home lets compare: VM DNS states = 195.225.218.139 for www.pistonheads.com

I cannot telnet to it on port 80.

hmm, I also can't access ph (posting this from my phone), and only ph. I'm with eclipse and have just posted a support call with them although I don't think it has anything to do with them. router rebooted, tried a different pc, I can ping ph and can tracert, but the site is unavailable, even using the ip address, so not a dns issue.

wonder if my ip address is blocked frown

I have just spoken to Virgin DNS people (handy as use to work there) and they have had no problems over last night or this morning, and see the site fine.. but still investigating so will keep you informed.

try taking the router out of the system, and go direct modem/pc , this worked for me

I'm on BT at home.. Can't check it right now, I'll have a look when I get home and post if I get a result...

DNS lookups are blocked on our network, so I can't double check that either!

Still chasing up this problem with our hosting company. What is it that people who can't get on are seeing? (I know silly question to ask as they won't be able to post, but as some have sorted the problem out I thought it was worth asking wink )

Is it just the petrolheads main page Like this
Or a page cannot be found Like this

Hopefully not just me but I have seen similar to all three! Also page hangs when clicking on reply or newtopic or new page or just navigating through the forums.

I was having problems accessing Pistonheads from work, but any other website was fine! I was almost on the verge of withdrawal symptoms and MSN Cars was the only website at hand to fill that void ... I feel dirty boxedin
