No agenda - just a question. I started the Brunstrom tasered thread, after searching to see if no one had posted before - no results found.

I post the link to the BBC News site, and the photo from the BBC, and a tongue in cheek comment (nothing offensive) and the thread is locked...

Why? I would have thought that as a motoring site, the fact that there was a news story involving the Chief Constable of North Wales volunteering to be tasered by his own officers would at least raise a chuckle here... but no.

It's amazing that on You Tube, the video of the incident (which I intentionally did not link to) has been online for 1 day and had over 3200 views, but on PistonHeads, no mention may be made...

I'd love to know wht this thread was locked, when it at least bears some "relevance" to the core interest of the site, rather than some of the usual drivel regurgitated on these forums...

Many thanks

Chris

Hi Chris,

Don't take it personally, but yours was one of many threads created on the very subject.

The original was only three pages back: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

You have also seen the other closed threads if you had gone back a page or so.

I would suggest as well as searching, checking back a few pages before posting, otehrwise you'll either incur the wrath of the repost police, or us trying to not have four threads going on the same subject.

I might add, that something 'car related, but police' may live in another one of our forums wink - but we'll let that one go seeing as its Brunstrom.

Cheers

Neil

Also to add, the search function works on a backup of the database for speed reasons. This database is only backed up nightly and the posts from the day will not be found in the search engine so looking back through the recent threads as Neil says is a second way to look into reposting.

Didn't know that - but that makes a LOT of sense as to why people complain as to why they can't find stuff thumbup

That's more like it. A refreshingly boocks free answer wink hehe

Also, many thanks for your replies above - I didn't know about the search facility (makes sense) and I didn't spot the other threads running....

As you were all, my dummy is now back in my pram wink

AAARGH - why does this happen? I'm logged in, then reply to a topic, and get logged out as I post the topic, leaving my reply blank...

Maybe the PH hamsters have just decided to grant the right to random anonimity to people called Chris? biggrin
