I'm giving up on it for today. I hit refresh and end up several minutes earlier than I started from, and Mrs BG is getting annoyed with me shouting at it all night biggrin

G'night all.

One does wonder at it all.....

I think wha ever transaction process is running on the inserts into the DB, needs a bit of a review.

It's kinda weird looking at the forum screen and seeing Last Post 22:04 and then loading the thread to see a last post of 21:35.

It's at times like this that I realise other people really do go through the same mill as I do sometimes.

Hope you can get it sorted!

It can't be the inserts - refreshing the post list shows a post disappear - reappear - disappear - etc.

I'd guess at some sort of replication issue.

I seem to be unable to see LoveMachines posts.
Can we leave it like this for a bit please?

Absolutely.... By stating 'inserts' I was considering replication.

Must be they trying to load balance across a few servers?

I'd love to know which bright spark sugested that for this forum!

It's an interesting point - do you do the insert into two DBs or do you insert into one and replicate?

PH is getting big - something has to be done for performance to be sufficiently useful - either now or soon in the future, so I guess it's happening now.

In my limited experience of hacking about in a reasonably heavy database and Cold Fusion application - archiving all the older stuff off to another table keeps the wolves from the door, surely this could be done on an ongoing basis with PH?
