Who are they, and why can't we see their ID when they close threads?.?

Just like football referees, there should be a league table for mods. Thread closures, sin-bins, bans etc.

Hi Glassman,

Some mods decide to close certain threads because they do not like the flack they attract sometimes when a user disagrees with their decision.

This is fair game, seeing as we all do it vountarily and prefer an easy life at times. It is supported by the PH management as it is given to as as a tool to help us do our job.

There are a few mods, including me, who don't do this; prefering to be completely transparent with our moderating.

It's not intended as a 'sneaky' way of moderating in any way.

As for a league table, why should we? For what reason does PH need to provide this info - after all you are getting PH for free and PH is a private business!!!

Hello Neil and thanks for the explanation.

Some topics are closed with a comment, but there is no ID in the window, hence the 'Invisible Mod' tag. However, you should not take things so seriously, re: league table.

The next time I post a tongue-in-cheek comment, I'll put a 'rolleyes' or 'laugh' emoticon before submitting it.

Thanks again.

Edit: Keep up the good work; you're all doing a great job. biggrin

No probs Glassman - it can difficult to convey emotion appropriately in post - so a smiley works well.

I've removed all the un-necessary quoting and re-quoting.
