The car related ads probably got a click-through or two. But loans from Abbey? Internet provided by Pipex?

I've ended up clicking on a couple every now and then... only 'cause the banner is so close to the 'What's New' icon rolleyes

I don't have a problem with the banners being there, i just wish the adserver did not take about 30 seconds to find the bloody advert, its like blind librarian trying to find a brail copy of a Jilly Cooper novel!

Only vaguely relevant, but... Don't touch Abbey with a barge-pole! They were letting a stranger write cheques on my Mother's account, and honouring them! And they can't explain why. We're letting the Ombudsman decide what will happen (probably bugger all) but have closed our account and the other will soon follow. Thought Braclays and Lolyds were sh1t but they were fantastic in comparison.

They used to be vetted by Ted to decide on which ones we'd like, they were always good then, adverts for car showrooms etc. Now i get confronted by the bloody WSPA demanding money, virgin media telling me how great they are, and other such shit adverts, i'm on the verge of adblocking them and creating my own stylesheet

You are complaining about adverts and their positioning which pay for you to view something you find interesting for free ... no point missed.

Like, as in, does anyone ever click through to such sites as 3 Mobile from PH? Example given when I also said I've clicked on one or two of them by accident.

Point missed. yes

Wrong platform mate. Your train hasn't come in yet. Admit it, you jumped the gun.

Paul,

Just because you have not clicked on them, does not mean that no-one else has.

The ads are important, and I suspect are probably syndicated.

Anyway - bottom line - there's no point arguing amongst ourselves unnecessarily. There's nothing to be gained.

So lets chill out - it's Friday night. And it's the weekend.

No one arguing. You suggested that I was complaining about ads. I wasn't. Was asking if anyone actually clicks through (on the newer corporate ads). You misunderstood. But if you want to get shirty about it...

Ok, so maybe some members have clicked on them. I didn't think so. But dunno why Broccers (and you) see that as arguing because Broccers misunderstood?
