search - when does it update it's index?

I ask because I fell foul of the repost police today (shock horror send me to hell) - about the low/high numbers lottery thing.

Before posting I searched on lottery, lotto, Camelot, Tina Farrell, cool cash, etc. And found no relevant posts - using basic and advanced search.

Is the search working or is it that the indexes are lagging behind?

The search updates nightly, so is up to date as of 2am, thus it doesn't have any posts since that time for the day. The reason for this is we then don't affect the performance of the main database when searches are taking place. Hope that clears things up.

thanks - but searching for Tina Farrell still fails to find the post

edited to add searching for the exact phrase "Thick people are everywhere" - the thread title - in the advanced search fails to find the thread either.
