Invisible posts

I suspect this will do it too, a few months back we had this happening around 0300 to 0500 where posts are registered but not displayed, they updated the newest post time, but they don't appear until later on, it's not an out of sync moment more a guaranteed time they'll all appear

Looks like an issue with the backup at night that causes this.

When the backup is instatiated one of the servers stops updating so it can do a point in time backup, this should be taken out of the live environment so you don't see any difference, but looks like for some reason it is still accepting requests.

I will recheck the logic for the night owls out there.
