The following URL (and URLs like it) appear to be what is causing my browser to stall whilst rendering Gassing Station pages:

http://haynet.adbureau.net/jserver/acc_random=8729842687/SITE=PISTONHEADS/
AAMSZ=300x250/AREA=FORUM.GENERAL.PIEPISTON/MAKE=/MODEL=/pageid=2466109162

yup, the adserver is godawful, It was broken the other night and the site was lightning fast. AFAIK racingpete knows about it and has asked haymarket to make it better but its out of his hands frown

I've taken the nuclear option and added the line:

127.0.0.1 haynet.adbureau.net

to my /etc/hosts file.

Slow adservers appear to encourage people to block them. A chain is only as strong as its weakest link methinks.

yes
Pretty much guarantee any thread will stall at the ad serve section.

Starting to piss me off lots now, dont spend as much time here as I used because of it either.

It is painfully slow tonight, constantly needing to close Firefox down and try again as opposed to mashing the refresh button

It is becoming a true pain in the arse and so bad that Im fairly sure I could make a sarnie and a brew while each thread loads up irkedrantingrage

thanks to the comment about the hosts file, added to mine, haynet already featured and hosts mean that all browsers will work faster smile
