I know PH has been down this evening but this is the first time I have been able post since it came back up as everything I have clicked on has resulted in the error page coming up.

Is anyone else having this.

Nope, it was due to it all going tits up.

I'm just writing a post to explain what happened, I will link it when it is done.

Yeah, that was a small mistake of mine, we can set the site to be closed until a certain time. I chose 23:59. The site then opened for a minute and then the clock ticked over to the next day and it was closed until 23:59 again! Sorry!

And i have just created a post explaining what the problem was HERE

Wow. Just Wow. Over reaction at all?

If you think about it we all contribute financially to this site as we generate the content that generates the traffic that generates the hits and userbase that Haymarket use to generate their income through advertising etc. Perhaps you should take some of your own advice? Or perhaps just think a little more?

rolleyes

Anyway, just to add, i've been getting errors all day on all the forums i've used. Also, the site has been very slow over the pat week or so, it went through a phase of being resonably uick, but its back to being painfully slow more than half the time.

Not having a go, just passing on the problems i've been having! biggrin

This comment always makes me smile, it gets quoted a lot.
There is a mutually beneficial relationship between the publisher and the user.
The publishers provides software, hosting and technical back up free of charge.
The users provide content, in some case very detailed, expert content free of charge.

When the two are coupled it creates value. The value is realised through the publisher
selling advertising space. The comment "thank God we don't have to pay for it" could
just as easily be applied to the publisher.

Agreed - pity that many don't seem to realise that the chosen business model is beneficial to both parties.

Maybe they should consider what exactly was the value of the business Ted sold to Haymarket, ie it can't possibly be worth anything if people can access it "free".

You have a right to criticise you visit the site in your own time, if it doesn’t perform then complain.

Can't see a problem with that logic if enough people complain then things might change for the better. smile
