Is it just me or has the ads changed dramatically, we used to have ads for Showrooms, Parts Places and general car stuff. Mostly PHers businesses I imagine, now we have "find the cheapest loan", Mickey Mouse degrees.com, Online Poker and othe non relevant stuff.

Why? and also request to have the old ads back.

Because haymarket have bumped the prices up so much that PH'ers business's can no longer afford to advertise. (not that i did before mind)

And annoyingly, the ads that come from the bureaus are probably on a pay per click, and so get huge PH coverage compared to the proper PH advertisers for an awful lot less.

Well the do have a ROI to take care of.
I think this goes for Haymarket though, and not the PH Team, that Haymarket have to be very careful not to kill goose though.

PH is a good place to advertise for us for instance, but not at any cost, and Haymarket have to decide whether they want Barclays ads, or the ad that is showing right now "University of Phoenix - Master of Science in Nursing", or an ad that is slightly more in line with the site like one of our adverts, or Vixpy's adverts.

One of the strengths in the past is that PH connects to its members very well, but sending just any old advert and pricing out (although I havent seen the prices recently - feel free to email me Andrew!!) advertisers like us, is not the way forward.

Finally, I don't see how these bureau ads can be generating the ROI required for the cost of PH when they bought it. If it had been such easy money - Ted wouldn't of sold and would of done these bureau ads himself.

1. Get Firefox.
2. Get Adblock Plus
3. No longer see any adverts, so stop worrying about whether or not they're relevant.

Job done! biggrin

Don't really see a problem, the ads pay to keep PH running and making a profit which means it will be here for people to use.

Also lots of the stuff on PH today isn't car related anyway.

scratchchin I agree to disagree Paul. There is probably more car related forums on this site than non related stuff, yes there is a lot of threads and posts in the P & P but still doesn't compare to all the car makes and General Gassing together.
