Kill file and other ideas
Discussion
Hi - I'd like to suggest:
1. the addition of a "kill file" feature, so I could selectively ignore posts from certain users, either on a per-session or (preferably) a per-login basis.
2. the link to a topic could pop up the first post of the topic as a tool-tip style popup, so I don't have to go into a thread to see if I want to read it. Alternatively, an expandable/collapsible box under the thread title in the topic list
3. When replying to a topic, can the page on which the reply button was his be displayed under the reply box, so quoting form multiple replies is easier? I know I can use multiple browser tabs, but that's no so easy on a mobile device
Cheers,
Ian

All good suggestions. To take each point at a time.
1 - This has been suggested before and we have it in the future dev plans, the only thing we would not be able to do is to not show a post which quotes the blocked user.
2 - We will look into this and see how much of an affect it has on the speed of each page, as we will be needing to do further reading on the database to get this information out. Though a good suggestion and one I have added to the future plans.
3 - This is another thing we are looking into doing in the future.

Whilst you're at it PH, can you also lend me some glasses that stop me seeing anyone that's offensive to my eyes.
Because y'know i can't skip over anything if i see it.
Because y'know i can't skip over anything if i see it.

I know - it's almost childish...sort of "I can't see you...ner ner ne ner ner"
But more importantly...
Some threads will look ridiculous if half the posters to that thread are deliberately making themselves unaware of comments posted - here's a simple example, 6 people post, IM first:
IM: I think the economy is in decline.
AB: I agree
AC: I agree as well
AD: I too agree with that
AE: Yes, you've hit the nail on the head
(BB joins the thread and doesn't agree but has 'blocked' any comments from AB, AC, AD & AE as he doesn't like them or want to hear their opinions)
BB: Thats absolute rubbish IM and I don't think you will get anyone to agree with you!
So imagine that (very) simple scenario played out over the course of a 10 page thread with nobody seeing various posts - threads will get very stupid very quickly.
IMHO
