... is a thing of the past. wink

At the risk of brown-nosing - PH is and has been up to speed for a little while now. A month or two ago I think many of us were a little disgruntled with the performance and regular outages but either:
  1. It scared of so many it's no longer an issue - or
  2. We now have enough hamsters.
Either way - top job PH. thumbup

rofl

I had just wandered over to this forum to post the opposite, it's just like the old days, clicking on stuff here there and everywhere and nowt happens, try to submit a post, and you end up going back or refreshing or just closing the browser and giving up, then you find multiple submissions a minute or two later when it's woken up.

And page loading stalling at the advert halfway down the page.

It's been better for a month or two for sure, but this evening its been back to normal for me.

It's certainly been a lot worse over the last 48 hours.

We had a switch outage at our data centre which is causing the drop in performance at the moment. We are working on getting everything up and smooth as quick as possible.

Well ever since Mistress Switch was caught playing with Max Moleslike she has been a bit unreliable.

We have just put in some more power today, so hopefully you will see the site working well again.

If you do have problems though, let us know!

Really frustrated at the moment.

All threads apart from this one (ironically) seem to hang when they get to the first ad.
It loads the first 4 or 5 posts, then stops. (No I haven't changed my preferences to 5 post per page smile)

The last post always seems to be the one with the ad in it. Could just be coincidence though.

The PH servers are now in good shape, but we're still at the mercy of the ad servers which deserve a good kicking. Pete's got some code that will alter the order in which the page is rendered in order to circumvent those delays. I'll chase that up next week.

Although it pains me to say it, use Firefox with Adblock if it's making the site unusable for you.
