To mail someone, click the link in their profile that says 'Send a mail' or suchlike.

When you signed up, you will have entered an e-mail address. This is where mail to you goes.

I think a proper pm system is long overdue on PH, much better for people to contact other posters, quicker and easier.

Whatcha say chaps?

Happy to consider that. What features would you consider make a 'proper' PM system.

A simple internal mail system, ability to mail multiple users.

Along the lines of a thread but viewable only to selected people.
None of the tracking/read-unread crap.

Just a simple mailbox for each user, where you can write to other users while keeping only your username visable. So all messages are kept on ph servers and can be accessed anywhere you access PH..

Similair to the Phbbb one.

I like the feature as-is, but maybe the link could be displayed in the header of the intended recipient's posts as well as within their profile.

i once saw one that was just like a thread only private that you are invited to join
only difference really being that only the originater and intended recipiant/s can see it
and when closed (as it is a seperate window)it auto deletes

Similar to the system on mx-5.com?
