I'm trying to add this http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/rss.asp?s=11 as a stream of cars for sale to my site but I can't validate it.

Validation Results for http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/rss.asp?s=11
· Could not establish a connection with www.pistonheads.com

Any ideas?

Ta smile

Curious. Still happening for you? Seems ok at first glance.

Still not working Ted.

I used to use the petrolheads one straight from classifieds and when that stopped importing the cars for sale I noticed the RSS feed had changed to pistonheads. Neither work anymore.

OK, it is a valid feed (validates here), but it seems there's one ad with dodgy characters in it which may cause problems to particular RSS readers.

I'll log that and look at it next week.

Thanks very much Ted. I'll log a support ticket with my software provider too to see what they say smile

From IPS, I'll speak to the hosts as it looks like a problem at my end smile

Hello,

Ok.The interesting thing is that it works fine on my test forum. I thought, perhaps, it was an all-around problem on your site, but doesn't look like it as other feeds import properly.

One possibility... How long ago did it change from petrolheads to pistonheads? Because it's POSSIBLE the DNS hasn't updated at your location yet. The error is

"Could not establish a connection with www.pistonheads.com"

Which is saying your forum can't reach that address. If the DNS hasn't updated yet.. That could cause it. we may need to get your host involved on it.

I also used to have PH Lotus news imported and that doesn't work either, same message...

I'll speak to the hosts and see if they can shed any light too.

Sounds like their DNS may be screwed.

Any idea about this Ted? I'm currently not sure about the 'Really Simple' in RSS!

"We have checked the server and it appears that the fopen function is set to ON for your server. Please check with your RSS channels and make sure what exact settings we need to set up for you with php."
