somebodys name in a thread indicating there has been a reply but when you click on the thread it does not show up.

Not one single other forun I go on ever has any of this.

I'd rather not go into it for two reasons.

1) Security

2) Whatever hardware we declare, we'll get a barrage of 'helpful' suggestions telling us how it's all wrong
