Is the enforced footnote broken when messages are edited?

I know mods have extra privileges regarding this, but I really think they should only be used when necessary and not abused.

It is only right that you can edit personal postings but a note that the original has been changed is quite significant IMHO.

ETA: It was in a particular post, but there was nothing to see.. hence the question, unless Gazman AKA AbShocks has become a mod or found same way to circumnavigate the footnotewink

I actually replied to a post and when I viewed the post realised I had made a spelling mistake and it didn't read properly so I deleted the post and re-posted.
Have some members got nothing better to do than nitpick?
