Every time I have been on Pistonheads within the last week or so, I keep getting these "oops" messages when trying to leave a topic or post in one and using other features, its getting annoying. Am I the only one?

I have noticed a lot of errors and techinical issues this week.

Also becoming rather slow to load pages, dont seem to have that problem with other sites..

Yep I've been getting the 'oops errors, our technical team have been informed' with the option of going back to the previous page. It's a bloody nuiscence!

They appear to have a bank of front-end servers, and some kind of synchronisation between databases on the servers.

Unfortunately, it's not synchronised as often as expected. So, you can see a thread's got, say, 10 messages in it, but you click on it and it has 5. Then 3. Then 10.

It's not how I would've designed it, but I have no idea how much load these servers are under (but I would suspect it's too much).

When I was in Seattle, it was nice and responsive smile

I thought it was Al-Qaeda's fault, or are we not blaming them for anything anymore?

I've given it a kick which should fix things for now.

We are aware of the problem and are working flat out to fix it, we are just finishing off a few optimisations to the site which should go live later on this week. They should significantly reduce the load on the databases and cure the problem properly.

In the mean time, I apologise for any inconvenience that is being caused and hope you will bear with us while we sort this out

That sounds quite good. The other day, I was trying to work out what kind of problems could be happening, and how the systems all hung together based on the observations.
