Old PH car adverts
Discussion
Has something changed on the site regarding old adverts?
If you do a search for adverts in say the TVR Tuscan section and then sort by highest price you get adverts that are as much as 4/5 years old.
A bit pointless if you are trying to work out what cars are selling for today. This didn't used to be the case, why is it happening now?

Not much use if you are trying to find out the current value of a particular car, the example above sold 4 years ago - hardly relevant today.
More to the point this has only recently started happening, maybe it has been changed to show how many cars sell using the PH adverts, even as far back as 4 years ago
Paid private adverts anyone, coming to a website near you

As far as I am aware there should not be any adverts that old appearing in the listings, they should still expire after 60 days like they always have.
We have made some changes to the classifieds recently as part of our optimisations to speed up the site and it is possible that this is affecting something.
I will dig in to this further tomorrow and hopefully find out where these adverts have resurfaced from, but it is definately not an intentional decision on our part.

See link I posted above. I would post some other examples for you to view but as the site is running like a snail with piles at the moment I will leave it to the experts.Mr Will said:

I would suggest my defintion of optimisation is not the same as yours. I have never seen this site running so badly in the 5 years I have been posting on it.Gassing Station | Website Feedback | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
