Profile shortcut URL sporadically broken

I'm probably the only person who uses this, but still...

Sometimes the shortcut to a user profile, e.g.

www.pistonheads.com/~miniman

works fine, other times it doesn't. Any chance this can be fixed? I use it on the phphotocomp.com site to link back to a user profile (and yes I know the link will get broken if the user changes their username). Suspect some servers in the cluster have this redirect in their config and others don't?

You are not wrong.. one of our servers doesn't seem to work with the redirect, we will look into it.
