Advert not appearing
Discussion
Hi Gareth,
I've had a look, your advert is live and can be found HERE
As you are probably aware, we have just launched a new classified system featuring two levels of advert, standard adverts and premium adverts.
Premium adverts cost £7 and feature 9 pictures and placement at the top of the listings.
Standard adverts are free, but are placed after all the premium and dealer adverts in the listings.
In addition to the two categories, we also still have some old adverts on the site which were submitted before new system went live on the 3rd of July. These adverts are being treated as premium advert until they expire (which will be within 30 days).
All of this means that if you have recently submitted a standard advert then it is likely to appear several pages back in the listings, especially in a busy category which still contains a lot of old system adverts. As the old adverts expire this will balance out, but in the mean time your advert can be easily found by using either the advanced search or filter tools. Alternatively, you can upgrade your advert for just £7 which will allow you to add 6 more pictures and will bump your advert right to the top of the list.
If you have any more questions then please feel free to ask.

hi i posted an ad yesterday with my husband (1990 G - reg Escort RS Turbo).it was a basic ad.it says it is live but i cannot find it in classifieds.can you help please?
one of my friends has tried 3 times to list an ad.it says its live, the technical team say its live, but when you search the listings its not there.
oh well, early days with the new system im sure the tech guys are doing there best.
Yeah i've noticed this when i was searching in the Impreza section over the weekend - it would appear that if you dont pay for a premium advert then your normal ad is loaded onto the last pages with the cars up to 60 days old :wall: But of course pay for premium & they show up on the first search page - funny that

There are two things affecting this at the moment, firstly there are the old adverts in the system which are forcing the new standard ads further back and secondly there are just too many cars in some of the categories.

The old adverts will expire over the next few weeks, which will lead to a much better balance between the premium and standard adverts appearing.
We are also planning a review of the categories which will include splitting up the overcrowded categories (i.e. Impreza will probably be split into STI, WRX and Others) which should also help.

If you're adding more subtabs like for the various types of Impreza i.e WRX, STI, etc, would it also be possible to add a dedicated "RS" section in the Ford area as i know a lot of people on the Ford forums like the RSOC have been saying it would be easier to find things like the Focus RS, Escort RS turbo, RS1600i's, etc if they were in a specific subtab for the RS rather than just in generic Focus, Escort, etc
