Today PH will run an advert for Cadillac on the homepage that will see the background colour change. Other than this PH will be bsuiness as usual

It's taken some time to decide to run this, and it will last until Wednesday, however we're keen to get your feedback, so do let us know

It's always a tough call to change things like this, yes it's giving PH commercial gain, but all the team gave it some thoight before going live.

As it happens, I like the way it looks and think the black makes the site look quite modern, but do keep feedback coming as we'll be taking note.

Hard to read IMHO. The eye is naturally used to reading black text on white, so the complete reverse is hard to read. It does look quite nice. Poor attention to detail in the CSS in the footer area though! And the background around the "go" button. [/pedant]

I really like the black background actually, and no problem reading the grey text on it. It's not like blue frames etc look like 'work' anyway!

Not necessarily against the black background, but it does look a bit like someone just changed the stylesheet values for the background and left the rest of the site untouched. I think the rest of the site would need some tweaking so that the colours worked better with the darker background.

Not really a big fan of the adverts, having every single bit of ad space sporting a Cadillac advert seems a bit overkill, I'd rather see PH sell out to a manufacturer that more of the members have some sort of affinity with, I can't really see many members here having their opinions on the CTS swayed, and can only really see them becoming a bit of a farce, maybe the CTS is the new 335d?

If the Americans are happy to chuck lots of money at PH for little return then who am I to stop them. I just hope the new revenue funds some interesting new articles and that every other main page story doesn't become a press release for some awful GM creation.

Feedback? Thought I'd logged onto a website promoting brothels until I checked the address. Black and Red? Suits lingerie or a dodgy website selling it's battery powered whares but not PH.

So HOW much are Cadillac paying PH for this? (the fools! Do they not realise PH is populated by people who actually know something about cars?)

The colour scheme is good, I quite like the grey on black but can see how it would be difficult to read for some.

However as someone else pointed out three adverts on the front page are a bit of overkill IMO.
