When is PHTV moving to Flash?

ok, I accept it would be a big job to convert existing content to flv (though could be done in automated batches). Flash just seems to handle video better than WMP/quicktime, I personally find PHTV too slow and unreliable to be worthy of my time.
With the latest revision of FP9 it'll handle high def content and HE-AAC PS audio, and loaded video remains in memory so if you skip back to a certain point it doesn't have to re-buffer. Not to mention all the additional featurs that could be built in to the PH player: playlists, favourites, similar videos etc etc. If its good enough for the beeb its good enough for PH!

Completely agree with you.
The current way the site handles videos is poor and we have been making small movements on the backend to solve these issues and move the videos to flash based. The whole process will probably happen with a redesign of the whole of PH.TV and thus it has been a slower process than we like due to other priorities.
We are looking at having something by the end of the year which will improve the TV site.
