View new posts

I frequent the pie and piston fairly often and will refer back to posts i have read or replied to previously.

The problem is that when you click on the link, it just takes you to the first post. Most other forums i visit will take you to the "posts since you last read" part.

I know PH has that blue bar telling you, but that isnt helpful if the topics over 10 pages long.

Any reason why the links cant point to a bookmark in a page, such as the blue bar?

ETA: my IPB forum uses "view=getnewpost" at the end of the URL.

One thing I would like is for the "view new posts" link to be preserved forever if I don't visit the topic. At the moment, they are reset for each visit to the forum.

Sometimes take a look at the posts RE news stories at lunchtime, only to lose my place in other threads which I did not read.

It still just goes to the page where the new posts are, rather than to the blue bar where the actual new post is, though.
