Long text

I've noticed some posters have managed to quote long pieces of text.

However, whenever I attempt this the preview shows that I won't get all the text in.

Is the preview lying? Or is there a way to lengthen the text?

You can post much larger chunks of text than the preview window is able to display.

I'd also question the need to quote huge slabs of text...

I wouldn't call it huge slabs - just a little longer than the preview

Posting news articles - is it better to just put in the link, the 1st paragraph or the whole text?

Ah, got you. Errm... really you should just post the link as a complete reproduction without authorisation is a breach of their copyright and means they don't get the benefit of people visiting their site.
