Now I freely admit to being a computer mong but the search function on here is beginning to cheese me off. On many occasions I've tried to track down a thread or post that I KNOW exists but 'computer says no' *cough*.

Today was the last straw. Search>CCTV>Flintstone............."Nothing Found". Into my profile, look at threads posted in and there it is, large as life 'CCTV Systems'.

What do I have to do to make it work properly?

PS In GG because I know this affects so many other members.

Anything less than 24 hours old isn't indexed, hence not searchable.

Use google instead. Less load on PH servers too.

What's wrong with it being moved?

If i post about cars in P&P it gets moved, you post about the website in GG and it gets moved.

It's not the best. Using the " " marks can help, but it's still fairly rubbish.

Normally it updates every night at about 2am, but at the moment one of our servers is out of action which is preventing the search database from updating.

It is currently missing anything since tuesday, but hopefully we will have it back up and running by the weekend.

In the mean time, the Google search tip above does work very well.
