Threads with multiple pages

When reading a thread with multiple pages, it seems that when I open the thread it takes me to page 4 or or 5 etc, but when you click on page 1 it goes to another page within the thread

Is this just an issue with the forum?

Can you explain where this phenomonom happens (a specific thread, where you click on the page from the front page etc), as it isn't something we have experienced with the forums before and it will help try and diagnose what is going on.

thats just an example, it does it to any thread I try to open. If I click on the title to open the thread, it takes me straight to page 4, even though obviously I can see the opening post as if it was page 1

About that new posts link, would it be possible for it to be made "new posts since you last visited this thread" rather than "new posts since you last visited gassing station"?
Probably quite a big task, but currently I lose my place in other threads if I just want a quick look at the news stories comments during lunchtime for example.

This is possible but nothing is built in the system to do this at the moment so would take a bit of development work to build. Unfortunately we are really low on resource at the moment so this isn't something in the plan for the future but we will take note of this request.

Takes me to page 4, which is actually page 1 - if that makes sense. In other words, it says page 4 at the top but I can see all the opening posts etc

This is really odd, do you have your topic order set to ascending or descending?

Would it be possible for you to send us a screenshot of one of the affected pages so we can see exactly what it is doing?
