Seen a few posts recently where people have been asking about information on cars they are thinking of buying.
How about being able to drop your reg number (old and current) into your profile so people can search on it to find owners or previous owners?

It's already there (the asking for reg bit) and 1792 cars have had plates entered. I will put a search facility in so that you can find cars that people used to own and perhaps a facility where you can send a mail to the current owner of a car without their identity being revealed.

Not seen this myself either.

Must be careful to protect identities though.

Need to run a little wary of the Data Protection Registrar on this one, Ted, methinks.

The DPA is a funny old thing, but essentially I'm with Scooby, we are volunteering the info and will tick the box which says "do as you will for PH but not externally"...

PH is registered with the Data Protection Registrar. I will recheck the terms of registration.

Not an issue really as each member has complete access to their profile and that's all that is stored.

oh darn, that spoils that idea

More a thought for other companies really, I wonder what would happen to a lot of companies (such as bloody cold calling centres) if everyone asked for their information...
