It wasnt bad tempered or anything negative, I dont see why it was closed.
Theres no explanation for it ?

Probably because the mods are getting sick and tired of the politics and in-fighting that are epidemic in the drag racing forum at the moment and it is easier to end the whole discussion than to referee and delete posts in personal squabbles they don't understand.
I dont like the aggro thats been going on anymore than the mods do.I think the drag forum needs a (the) regular mod to show his hand more often in a bit of obvious policing, rather than closing threads.
It seems obvious that lately there has been a few who join ph just to have a go in this forum, and there is one person in particular who seems to only post aggravating posts aimed at winding people up.
I dont want to lose this part of ph, and fully appreciate it does have its own problems...
What do you think is the answer ?
I think that a lot of the car forums are SELF-moderated with very little intervention from the mods, shame the drag forum can't take a leaf from the same book.
We mods are not on call all of the time, to resolve petty scrabbles and argument.
I thinks you’ll agree that the Drag forum is a little specialised and the vast majority of the mods would consider it out of their league, I know I don’t feel that comfortable with the vast majority of the subject matter that is discussed in here.
All IMHO.

Al, I fully apppreciate where you are coming from, and to a certain extent, there is a degree of self moderation.
I have reported posts/threads in the past that are heading the wrong way, but it does feel as if the drag forum doesnt have its own mod as I know most others do.
I do know that other drag fora in the past have suffered from the same symptoms, and its seems to be a subject that attracts a very high level of passion, and as I said, we see people joining ph just to have a pop, the Andy Frost thread being a good example.
Personally, I feel a visible mod may make a difference, even if that mod only corrected a thread a week, IYSWIM.
