Gasing Station Locking out Browser

Is it just me who is continually getting locked out of my browser whenever I open a new page in the Gassing station? Lose control of browser input with a message at the bottom saying "Waiting for ad.uk.doubleclick.net...." or words to that effect for up to 45 seconds.

Makes the whole of Pistonheads unuseable so hopefully its either something dodgy on my PC (*) or a glitch on their servers. If the site is forcing me to wait for adverts I don't want to look at then its the end of PH for me....

Put an entry in your "hosts" file pointing it to 127.0.0.1 ie

I have the same issue. How do I change the Host file?

Why do I have to change the config of my browser to get round a technical issue with the advertising? Please, if they can't be fixed, turn them off until they can be.

If I understand it correctly there's an ongoing issue with servers outside the control of PH.

The hosts file usually lives in Windows\system32\drivers\etc. You can edit in notepad and just paste that line above in on the next empty line. Doesn't really matter where it goes in there to be honest as long as it's at the start of an empty line.

That will stop your browser hanging and kill all the in page ads until it's sorted.

It sounds like there is a bug in one of the adverts which is causing it to load slowly. I'll keep an eye out for it, but if anyone else can spot which one it is that is loading slowly then let me know and we will get it pulled straight away.
