How about a 'travel' forum?

Just back from hols and it occurred to me that there's no 'holidays and travel' forum. I'd imagine the PH community have experience (almost! ) to rival TripAdvisor, and every so often I see threads in the P&P...is it worth spinning them out into a new sub-forum?

It's a nice idea, so we will bear it in mind and keep any eye on the number of threads to see if there would be enough demand to sustain a separate forum.

We need to be careful though, because splitting forums can create slow-moving backwaters if the demand isn't there.

Wouldn't it just be full of the usual holiday/flight/hotel one upmanship that these holiday threads seem to encourage.

e.g.

Poster A. "What's x like for holidays?"
Poster B. "Full of chavs, I only go to y for my holidays"
Poster C. "y is for the chavs, I go to z but I fly first class"

. . . . or those really lazy 'what's there to do in (insert world famous place here)?

Possibly. I hope not...

But then if you applied that logic the P&P would get shut down...
