Bookmarking / Linking to a post

I may be being daft here, so apologies if so.

Quite often people say 'Page 6 of XXX thread' to direct someone to a post. However, people have different settings etc. A good example would be certain posts on the Prison? thread. You could the use the built in 'bookmark' function of PH to jump straight to that bit.

Is there a way to link to a specific post in a thread? Surely there must be a 'PostID' similar to the topic number somewhere? Don't know whether this could be done retrospectively or just for topics in the future?

As you say it is slightly tricky due to the different post numbers and viewing orders everyone choses so something will have to work it all out to get to the right post. But we will add it to the ideas list and have a think about it.

Something like.... TopicID=20586 PostID=102 would work no matter how many posts you have it set to. So instead of TopicID=XXX, PageID==342 PostID=32 you could do away with the page parameter.

Depends on how easy it is to shoehorn in I guess
