Noticed something about the // that seem to be appearing in posts namely Youtang Yourang's.

It happened in a quote he made yet when I quoted the post he quoted no //.
Just wondering if there is a browser out there that is putting these in in an attempt to escape the characters to prevent them being parsed yet for some reason getting printed.

Not that up on server side stuff but just thought I'd let you chaps know about it.

It is stored in the database with the \ in the text and thus I am suprised you didn't see it when quoting one of his posts, as I got it when quoting. It must be on his side as it is the first time I have ever seen this.

Sorry wasn't making myself clear enough. I quoted the post by a different person that he had quoted and gotten the slashes, I quoted him and got them.

Either something their end or they're insane and like slashing everywhere they go.

He claims it's not anything that he's doing. Which seems highly unlikely to be honest.

It's a known bug with Firefox and he's been given the link to a fix twice. Presumably can't be bothered to do anything about it rolleyes

I'd argue that it's not. The known bug in Firefox means that when you press the ' key the "find on page" command is activated as far as I am aware.

That's what happens when you read other people's posts and don't bother researching it yourself hehe I retract the assertion.

hehe yeah I put "I would argue" because I'm not **100%** sure but I couldn't find any reference to the "symptom" the Mr Slash is suffering, but lots about the other known issue with the ' key (which I have suffered myself in the past).
