PROBLEM:
Your commercial advertisers pay per hit, right?

You guys appear to only update the editorial part of the Pistonheads website on weekdays.

Us lot [the public/users/customers/punters/call us what you will] access the website 24/7/365.

I can only speak for myself, but I have given up accessing any of the features pages on Saturday and Sunday because I have already seen them on Friday.

That equals 2/7ths advertising revenue from those pages down the pan for you.

If fractions are a bit hard, perhaps 28.5% means more?

SUGGESTION:
Schedule a proportion of your editorial output to go live on Saturdays, and another proportion of your editorial output to go live on Sundays. (Assuming your content management system is up to this -if it isn't then thats another thing for you to fix).

Its all about shifting attitude further from the magazine ethos and embracing more of the potential of the web.

I'll leave it there - I have dozens of other ideas, but penny packets sell more than job lots.

We do agree that embracing 24/7 news and features is the way forward and we have been looking into developing this idea more with the editor, so we do take your suggestion on board thumbup

Note: The statistics show a 40% drop in visits to features and news during the weekend. Though we also do see a drop of 25% in the forum visits at a weekend also. The only areas that don't see any weekend fluctuation is the classifieds.

Are you saying PH'ers have LIVES on the weekend?!?!

I agree though, I would like some new stuff to read over weekend whilst I'm waiting for mates to turn up for pubbage etc.
