REQUEST: classified filters + ignore user

would it be possible to have user set filters or ignore ?

e.g. when looking at the classifieds you could hide all adverts that include the words "douglas + valley"


I personally look at the classifieds a lot, I change my cars round a fair bit and am always on teh look out for a good bargain, especially during the current climate

It would be very helpful to customise the clutter a bit

The search is not brilliant in the classifieds, though we have always seen the site as more a catalogue browse than a specific search, which is why we split up the categories recently to make the click through browsing much easier and smaller.

We are looking into the search system across the classifieds at the end of the year where we hope to be able to feed much more data into the system and thus be able to provide a much easier searching or filter mechanism. As part of this I will take your suggestions of filtering out certain key words too.

Are you chaps working on the classifieds homepage display in Safari/Chrome so that all models from each manufacturer don't display on one very long horizontal line?

There's browser detection in there for Safari to address that problem (it was the only browser I couldn't get to expand like all the others). Guess it's no longer working though!

I just tried it in the PC version of Safari. I suspect there's an issue with some categories where the subcategory names are now quite long (e.g. BMW).

I'm sure with a bit of lateral thinking there's a better way to float those list items.
