Chaps,

The P&P - bastion of utter bks that it is. Do you really want search engines to find stuff in it? It's creating a new phenomenon that I don't think is healthy:

The old adage: Talk of the Devil and he will find you is most certainly true. Just now it's courtesy of Google.

Search engine access is great in the technical/marque/model specific fora. Not sure it's so good when it helps proliferate some rather nasty internet "memes".

It is something we have discussed before and is something we continually review.

Quite a few of people on PH have cited P&P as their first point of contact with the site and then have been very valuable contributors on the site for car related matters and it is a fine line between attracting decent PH'ers and not attracting the undesirables.

I will raise it with the team and mods again to see how we feel.

Alternatively, simply get Search working internally, then we wont have to rely on Google to find anything in the P&P biggrin

Does the site Search function include thread titles? Because it doesn't 'seem' to.

Because all search engines listen to robots.txt?

It is a good point, but the main one does smile

Forgive my ignorance, but what the hell does that mean?
Other than that, I agree with everything you said.

Things like "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" if you remember that.

Something becomes a running joke. Then gets cross posted on forum after forum. Then the whole internet is wasting time on it. Some are funny. Some are scams. Some are plain nasty...
