Images in threads

Just an idea for a feature change.

I use the photo forum a lot and most of the users seem to know to use small images to not clutter up the thread or increase the time it takes to render. Unfortunately not everyone is able to stick to the suggested dimension limit (even in the photo forum) and sometimes a member will post a theread that has several large images that makes the thread almost impossible to read as you scroll for 2 or 3 hours to get to the next post.

Now I know the thumb tag does not shrink the actual file that is downloaded by the client, however, it does a really nice job of keeping threads small.

My suggestion is to cause pic and img options to do the same as thumb so that all posts use a nice small display where a user can then click to see the large image if they want to. Another idea might be to say if more than 2 or 3 images are loaded with pic or img that they get converted to thumb (might not be possible?)

One last feedback, when posting images with the thumb tag why is it not possible to have several images on teh same line? If you do one thumb image then a space or random character between the next, it doesn't appear to work so you end up having to have each new image on a fresh line.

I have put your ideas into our ideas list so we can refer to them when redesigning.

The thumbnail picture idea is something we are thinking about at the moment, though might just do it for quoted pictures first.

I will look into how easy it is to move thumbnail formatting to side by side.
