as a relatively newcomer I would like to see an area that displays the stats of the forums, for example the longest/oldest topics listed, the members with the most posts and the least or newest people to welcome new people, if this has been sugessted before just ignore me because I can be rather boring sometimes.

If you want to see the latest members go to the Members directory.......

Do you know that is the first thing I have got right all day and it's 11 o clock at night, (note to self must try harder tomorrow)

P.S is there a facility to report myself on here for those kind of offences?

It isn't something that has been suggested and we will add it in for consideration, though I am not sure what it would actually give you. The recent members, as said above, is available in the member's directory so you can say hello to people there
