Not a critism, more an observation.

I'm using firefox. The ads seem to stall the page half way down through loading and prevent the pages loading seamlesly (noticible 2-3 second pause sometimes)

I am sure it was not like this until very recently?

Sometimes we get an advert which loads slowly on certain machines. If you can spot which one is doing it then let me know and I will get it removed

I'm getting this quite a bit TBH.
It used to be specific ads for sure.
I'm not certain it's the ads now though, because it seems to happen randomly.
I'd say it's happening once every 10-15 clicked links.
I just kill the browser and fire up a new one, but I'm getting a bit hacked off with it.

I'll keep an eye out for it, but as the ads servers are outside our direct control there is a limit to what we can do.

You could... I dunno... not have ads served in the middle of the page? It's always these ones that cause the page to hang halfway through loading wink

Changing the pages so that the ads load last is on the to-do list, but unfortunately it is a complicated change that will take a lot of time and effort to complete, so it is unlikely to happen for a while yet.

The NSPCC 'video' always stalls my page load. And the 'click' noise it makes every few seconds is fecking annoying too!

I'll pass the complaints on and see what we can do

I expect the strategy is that you will hear the click, think 'Wow, great idea, I'll click on it!' and then donate money or whatever it is they're after.

It's quite amusing to reverse engineer an advert and outwit the people who thought it uphehe

I keep getting this at work frown

It was the T Mobile one this morning that was doing it, as soon as it loaded it would hang internet explorer and slow the whole system down until you cross off PH.

The only problem with that is that when you close the PH window for some reason it closes all the other IE windows too, and since most of my work systems run on it it closes pretty much everything and i have to log off and on.

Damn annoying and I can't run an ad blocker at work, sort it out PH!

ETA guess what happened as soon as i posted this rolleyes
