Anyone else think we need a separate hifi/AV section under non-motoring and hobbies? As is, P&P, Music and Computers and Stuff all gets traffic that would fit (there's a fair bit of it too)...

A separate politics/economy forum is more needed IMO.

Probably better in the separate website feedback category...

Maybe, just thought I'd try and get some comment here first, then ask for it to be flipped over...

Pupp - I've moved it here for reference of the Senior team.

FYI - this topic is already under discussion.

Think there should be one titled "does my bum look big in this" as well. At least it seems to be going that way.

It's called whathifi.com and is also owned by Haymarket.

I built that site, it's been around for about 1 year and is currently growing FASTER than Pistonheads. Not sure how many people were around on this site at 6.15am this morning and thinking about stereos...

I pointed it out as it is a Haymarket site as is Pistonheads, now I am no business man but I guess it would be seen as a competitor?

We have a business forum and HM owns Management Today.

PH is a competitor to Autocar, ostensibly, and HM own both of those.

And they are both Motoring based. (Along with Autosport, Whatcar, Classic & Sportscar etc etc.)

Just saying I think it slightly odd that a motoring site would go directly against a sister site on the same subject.

Whathifi forums are very good as the team that write the magazine are constantly on the site giving advice. I was just trying be helpful as a Haymarket employee who does web stuff...

As has been mentioned, we are planning on adding some more non-motoring forums. An AV forum is almost certainly going to be one of those.

We don't see our non-motoring forums as competitors for the big sites centred on the topic, rather they are just a place where existing PH members can chat about their interests.
