Not sure if this has been brought up before and I'm sure it's quite annoying for both sellers and buyers but whenever you sort by price it never seems to work quite right. The last page always seems to have a bunch of ads which haven't been sorted correctly.

Yeah I've noticed this also (completely forgot to bring it up; sorry! paperbag).
Certainly drops a lot of listings to the back pages... Very strange! confused

Do you have any specific examples?

I would guess that it is the difference between Premium adverts and Basic adverts as they will be sorted by price with Premium coming first, but if you could put an example I will see if my initial guess is correct.

Yeah that looks right.
Just had a quick look at the RS Clio's (where I've noticed the problem) sort from Lo>Hi and then pages 1-5 are Premium followed by the 'normal' adds in ascending order from page 6 onwards....
I can see why it does it now, still a PITA though... scratchchin:

Hi Pete, yes you're correct, I hadn't realised but premium/trade adverts come first and then basic adverts. It is quite annoying as it defeats the point of sorting. Is it really necessary that the premium ads come first even when sorting? I think the end result is that many people miss out on relevant adverts because they aren't aware that the sorting behaves like this.

Or looking it differently those who pay money to advertise reach more potential buyers, which is only reasonable isn't it?

This is a decision that has been made for commercial reasons, though we have got an independent review of the sites usability ongoing at the moment and maybe they will highlight this problem.
