We are undertaking our second major infrastructure change for PistonHeads as part of our speeding up the server campaign (not the catchiest of campaign names). This means we are having to do a major upgrade on the database servers which will require taking down all the interactive functionality of the site and presenting you with a pretty single page for around 10 hours. You can still visit the site but I don't think it will have the same appeal during that period.

Sorry for any problems or inconvenience this causes but it will be worth it!

The planned outage will be

Wednesday 21/01/09 @ 22:00 to Thursday 22/01/09 @ 08:00

Television Choices to keep you entertained recommended by the PH Team during this time are:
22:00 - BBC2 - QI
22:50 - Channel 4 - Dave Gorman in America Unchained
23:05 - Channel 5 - Warzone
23:35 - ITV - Carling Cup Highlights
00:50 - BBC2 - Bowls Extra

I always like to watch QI while reading the SP&L forum, so would it be possible to move the start time back to 10.30, to avoid damaging my delicate rythm's?

You will have to cope for one night... alternatively, record QI and watch it back the next day when the site is back up.

No doubt that won't stop someone writing in to complain about the standards of grammar and how it isn't like it used to be round here.
