Moved threads

As you know when you click on a 'moved' thread it takes you to a page that you have to click on the link again to get to the thread.

Would it not be better just to link to the moved thread?

Or at least give a (humorous?) reason why the thread was moved?

It's all down to available time; with the vast number of threads posted daily the 20ish moderator do not have the time to explain why the thread was moved.

It would be far easier for the OP to post in the correct forum in the first place.

It was more of a question for RP & Mr Will, as their not that busy at the moment .

I meant a standard message, a bit like the vote one does but the question was more about 'why does it need two clicks to get to the thread?'

But I do agree with:

It's all down to the way the forums are coded. Each topic/post can only exist in one place at a time and there is no easy way add anything to a forum which is not a thread. This means that the only simple solution is to create a new topic telling everyone that the original one has been moved and containing a link.

It does also allow the mods to post a message it they feel it is necessary, although this is admittedly rare.
