Profile unavailable ?

Hi Mods, Admins & Techies !
I just stumbled upon a user, when I click for the profile,
the screen reads "Profile unavailable".
How does this happen ?

I am just curious, the user has done nothing to break any PH rules.

I think that it means that the user has requested to have their profile deleted.

Though, given that that post was yesterday it's unlikely, and may just be an error.

Must be a link problem, if you paste the username into the member directory search it finds it.

We get the occasional request for some members to have their profiles invisible, this is due to various reasons which I won't get into here. Thus when you click on the profile you will see nothing there.

In light of one of the threads (and some of the PHer's) today, it would be a good idea to only make your profile available to someone you have declared as a "friend".

Because certain people seem to think the information in the profile is just there for them to trawl the net and dig up as much dirt as possible! PH has attracted some strange people recently!

I think limited and full profiles is an interesting idea to consider a bit further down the line.

I'll add it to the ideas list and we'll have a look into it when we are next making changes to the members pages.

Thanks! I'd hate to see PH becoming a totally anonymous site just because of the actions of a few twunts!
