As per title, really. I'd like to have an old thread (started by me) removed from the face of the internet.

You can't - there'll be a backup of it somewhere, and there'll be a backup of that somewhere else, ad infinitum.

Don't say anything on the internet that you don't want someone to find out at a later date - especially if it's attributable to you!

Interest aroused ... I'll have to trawl back 49 months of posts to find it now. So much for Friday ...

Now you tell me.

It was the thread for which I became (in)famous on PH. Via a convoluted route, the GF stumbled upon it and, in conjunction with some other factors, has now decided to become the ex-GF.

I promised her I would get the offending thread removed. I've already gone through it and deleted all my input, but obviously things have been quoted and double-quoted, so I thought if I asked nicely it would magically disappear.

Surely this is the hidden camera in the bedroom thread? No?

I understand the reasons but it would be a shame to see that go. It was absolutely classic PH!

If you ever split up then let us know and we can resurrect it!

thought it was the one where the OP admitted doing something to the GF and then the GF read the thread on the site and the OP dug a deeper and deeper hole smile

So you do realise Google will find you out with a modicum of hunting?

Never choose a distinctive Forum id yeshehe "Sciroccology"

Then there's the darn web archive sites...

People leave a trail that's very, very easy to follow... I'm all over the web and I barely use it...

one reason why I use several usernames for various sites and suspect no-one knows them all smile
