Pistonheads iPhone Application ???

I'm travelling more amd more and it would be handy to have an iPhone application for Pistonheads - much easier than using a web browser - if other applications are anything to go by. I'd pay 60p or whatever! Also, might attract new members (although the 'what phone' threads might become tiresome!)

IN what way do you mean an PH application for iphone!!

I have a nice PH smilie as a quick link on the desktop of my iphone if thats what you mean. Just go to the home page and then use the add bookmark to desk top and the image will appear.

Apple offer thousands of applications (Facebook as an example) whereby the interface is much easier to navigate then using a web-browser. It's quite hard to read PH on an iPhone without having to enlarge the text.

BB: Navigating pages of a thread, for example, is a pain in the bum; you have to zoom right in to hit the page number, then zoom out to read it. This becomes tiresome, very quickly.

yes, a URL like http://m.facebook.com which is designed for mobile browsers (not just the sodding iphone)

AHA see what you mean, yes that would be good better, I will ask if there is anything in the pipeline, especially as some of them use iphones.

Even if there was a 'next' button on the thread pages as there is on the menu pages it would help a great deal.

A generic mobile version of PH is in the works, rather than a specific iPhone application.

It is being built for us by an external company and should be completed in a few months time.

Farming that out?

We ported our app to a generic mobile platform. We can add specific devices fairly easily but currently support iPhone and Blackberry.

It was a PITA doing it. But worth it.
