PetrolTed,

Just wondering if theres any chance of having Signatures on our posts? There may be some historical reason why theyre not enabled, and this question may have been asked a gazillion times - in thats the case, please accept my apologies!

I just think Signatures can be quite funny - the only times theyre a problem is

a)when theyre not seperated from the main body of the post by a line or similar, at which time it becomes confusing

b)when people put images in there - but presumably you could disable that feature?

Just an idea,

Cheers

Dave

Just don't see the need for them. What information is there that we need to read multiple times?

I prefer to keep the body of the forums empty of unnecessary bumpf.

Fair enough comment. I just think its an easy way for people to display an element of their personalities - e.g. with something funny etc.

I respect your points though and shant press the issue.

Thanks for replying.

...but they very rarely are.

One of the things I like about PH is that it isn't cluttered by tat signatures, avatars, post counts (although I believe that feature exists) etc.

Can't agree more ted. You really notice it when surfing other inferior boards.. its sometimes almost impossible to read the comment when you have a large signature which lists all the guys mods, cars pics "witty" quotes etc.. Pistonheads is great the way it is.

Too much of that going on as it is if you ask me.

Fair enough - no need to 'jump to the defence' of PH guys - I wasn't trying to be malicious or imply that Pistonheads is anything less than fantastic, as IMO that would be untrue - you're right, PistonHeads is great the way it is, but I just thought i'd air an idea that might make it even better - now i've read your comments I think I agree with you!

Down with signatures! Who suggested them in the first place? Lets blame PWIG

I mean, what do they actually add to someone's post?
