Looks like it is Haymarket rather than PH

Poor show imo though ,the chat has been done to death but its greener to keep the old cars going rather than scrap them.

We are (ahem) talking about this to the relevant HM bods. I have to admit that we only saw this announcement when it was in print......

Would that be the Haymarket bod that is left officially in charge from Haymarkets end?

I notice "Classic and Sports Car" were not a signatory hehe, but still pretty bad form on HM's behalf.

I noticed this in the front of Autocar.

Not a good idea imo.

Chris Rosamond is Editor of PH and he writes most of the words on the home page. He didn't see the ad, or know its contents, either.

I don't think I would be too impressed to have my name used without knowing about it....

Wild? I was absolutely livid!

Not on, regardless of his position. I'd be stratospheric if my employer put my name to an opinion in the national press without consulting me. Very poor indeed.

Supposing this happens....

New cars are now effectively £1.8k cheaper (you can get an old banger for £200 with MOT to trade in). This will bring the price of used cars down accordingly. Will it also increase the cost of the 'bangers'? Will they become more valuable?

I'm not convinced it has been thought through.

I'll move this in he chaps, as it's feedback in a sense.

Also, while we/ I are sorting it all out it would be beneficial to PH to avoid mass debate on GG. Needless to say, I'll keep you updated as usual.

It's not very PH, and Stuart and I will get it sorted.
