Old Pie & Piston? All can read, 100 posts to contribute?

If the Pie & Piston were to be reinstated and trolls were the main cause of it's closure, how about implementing a system whereby lurkers and new members can read, but cannot contribute until posting informative stuff on other forums ... Surely this would reduce the number of trolls posting rubbish in P&P?

We had a system where you had to be a member for 14 days before you could post, which seemed to be working reasonably well, and will be applied to "The Lounge", which is the new general chat area (and any of the other new forums if they turn out to need it)

The re-vamp just separates out the general chat from the more weighty topics, making it easier to find the stuff you are interested and keep up with the flow of topics (without stuff dropping off the front page in under 5 minutes as sometimes happened in the "old" P&P)
